GETTING STARTED

Hi all,

                     GREAT NEWS!!!

At 23.12pm uk time on the21st September we broke through the 1000 request barrier!!

Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who have hellped us hit our target of 1000 requests into the radio station. There are still 24hrs left so if you have not sent in your requests please don't stop!!! just keep them coming.

Here are some examples of what our wonderfull friends are doing for us!!!

, I hope you can help me to help some friends who helped me.

The band No Fixed Abode are campaigning to have their music played on radio 2.  The BBC is failing to give a chance to new talent, especially those who are unsigned, and there is a campaign to make just such a point.  It isn't just this band, but many others that are not getting the recognition they deserve. NFA are keeping stock of how many requests and subsequent response. (It's research for an expose)They sent me this message asking if we could help them by sending in requests for their music to be played. Could you help support them by sending in the emails asking for their songs. It's all explained below. Also I ask, as a friend if you could forward this email to your firends askign the same of them. To see what they sound like and see the tracks (which you could request) check their myspace www.myspace.com/musicnfa It isn't just about helping one band here... it is about making a point that the BBC does not recognise new talent. It could be your band or one you know that gets ignored too! So please
help.......................This was sent to over 100 people!!! our thanks!!

Here are some of the comments and requests we have recieved from you...our friends!!!

I'm still waiting and hoping you'll play a track from the amazing duo called 'No Fixed Abode'. I saw them again last Tuesday night and they just get more and more infectious. If you close your eyes, you can almost touch another place that I can only imagine is much like heaven. Every time I see them, I can't understand why they are not up there with others on the top of your playlists. I request, again, 'Absent Friends'! Please.

Hi,
Having watched you enliven the Eurovision Song contest for many a year with your perceptive wit and ribald comment I thought you may want to play something just a cut above that rubbish.
Talent abounds in old Blighty and when a young gal from Ireland teams up with some long haired chappie from Manchester, and their test of a whether their latest composition is any good is whether it's they still remember it in the good old am after one or perhaps two bottles of red wine then perhaps we may have 'stumbled' into something worth remembering.
I'm all for perceptive wit and ribald comment but a good song always brings me around - so please play Absent Friends for older togs like me who would like to be able to remember some of the people I've forgotten.
By the way Una and Tony are 'No Fixed Abode' and are now based in delightful Derbyshire don't you know

Hello Terry, Great to be in contact.
Hitspinner here,  I am rather amazed I find myself in need of writing a letter
endorsng "No Fixed Abode" for air play on any station. Man. I figured you
folks would already be all over them like a fast spreading rash. These kids are doing
some real magic and I get a enough requests on my shows for NFA to the point where
they are in the top ten rotation. That said, please see if you can give them some
spins and then get back to me on how that goes. I am rather taken by this group. They
do have a special sound, something lacking today as you no doubt agree.
I believe the song, "Absent Friends"  is the one they are actively promoting but I'll
tell ya, they have quite a few tunes that are killer.
Thanks
Have a great one

 Chris,
make my day, and lift my aching heart! while travelling in the u.k recently, I went to a gig where "No fixed abode" were playing. They played one of their songs called "Absent friend", and, for personal reasons, it really impacted on me.Please please, can you play that track for me? It would mean a great deal to me to hear it.Love your show!
I came across this song the other day and thought the words so moving that I wonder if you might play it for my wife, Susan, and sister in law, Janette following the death of their mother recently.
Many thanks

Please could you play Absent Friends by No Fixed Abode who are a very good band whose music I enjoy and listen to, regularly. I believe your listeners to your show should be given the opportunity to hear their music. I would love to hear their song Absent Friends played on your show.

Dear Mr Wogan,
I would be most grateful if you could play a song called 'Absent Friends' by No fixed Abode, from their CD Clearwater.
It deserves to be heard.
They are a hard working duo and on the times I get the chance to hear them live they have never failed to knock me out. If you do not have their CD in your library (?), you can get a  copy from tonynfa@aol.com
My thanks in anticipation.

Hi Johnnie,
Have you heard of a really great duo called No Fixed Abode? Their album Clearwater is certainly worth a listen &, if you can't easily get your hands on a copy, you can contact them direct at: tonynfa@aol.comI would just love to hear a song from their album, in particular I would like you to play Absent Friends.

Hey Tony; I have sent requests to both Terry and Alan......hope it works!  They may wonder why a guy in Florida (fighting hurricanes) is listening to the BBC......but its worth a shot!!!
